‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3’: Meet the New Cast Members (2024)

by Onyinye Izundu

In the franchise’s third installment, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, new cast members and characters were added to the hilarious, large Greek family audiences have grown to love. Unlike the first sequel, audiences didn’t have a 14-year wait for a follow-up movie. In My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, the Millers and Portokalos family go back to visit their ancestral country, Greece.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 picks up after the death of Gus Portokalos (Michael Constantine). After an invitation for a reunion by Gus’s hometown Mayor, the family goes to Greece to reunite with relatives/friends and honor Gus. While most of its old cast reprise their roles in My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, new faces are joining the franchise.

Elias Kacavas as Aristotle

Elias Kacavas is a Manchester-born actor of Greek descent. He joined the My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 cast, playing Aristotle. His character is Paris Miller’s (Elena Kampouris) college mate and love interest. However, they seem to have undisclosed strain at the start of the movie. The Aristotle character is introduced when Aunt Voula (Andrea Martin) brings him onboard the flight to Greece, introducing him as her new assistant. Although My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 isn’t Elias Kacavas’ first acting project, it’s his feature film debut. He made his debut in 2019 with two short films, House of Fluff and The Death of a Matriarch. In 2022, he guest-starred as an 18-year-old Cal in an episode of HBO’s Euphoria.

Melina Kotselou as Victory

Greek actress Melina Kotselou was also a new face in My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3. Kotselou joined the cast as Victory, the young Mayor of Gus’s hometown of Vrisi. The eccentric Victory picks the Millers and Portokaloses from the airport, where she introduces herself as a distant relative of the Portokalos. Her schemes to revive the village eventually work out in the end. My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 was Melina Kotselou’s feature film debut. Before 2023, Kotselou had only worked on two short film projects in 2022.

Anthi Andreopoulou as Alexandra

The Portokalos family grew larger in My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3. When the Millers and Portokaloses arrive in the deserted village of Vrisi, they meet with someone from Gus’s past. The character of Alexandra is introduced as Gus’s old girlfriend from decades ago when he was in the village. Veteran Greek actress Anthi Andreopoulou joins the My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 cast, playing Alexandra. Although the movie is Andreopoulou’s Hollywood debut, she has appeared in several other Greek films and TV shows.

Alexis Georgoulis as Peter

Also joining the cast of My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 is Greek actor and politician Alexis Georgoulis, who plays Peter. A plot twist introduced Peter as Gus’s illegitimate son. Peter is the son of Alexandra, Gus’s old girlfriend. Before leaving Vrisi, Gus had no idea Alexandra was pregnant. Upon this realization, the Portokaloses welcome Peter into their large family. Besides several of his works in Greek cinema, Alexis Georgoulis played Spiros Halikiopoulos on ITV’s British comedy-drama The Durrells. As one of the series’ main cast, Georgoulis appeared in all 26 episodes from 2016 to 2019.

Giannis Vasilottos as Christos

Christos is Peter’s son and Alexandra’s grandson. This makes the character Gus’s illegitimate grandchild. Having spent all of his life in Greece, like his father and grandmother, Christos had never known any member of the Portokalos family. His story arc in My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 is his relationship and marriage to Qamar. Greek actor, composer, and director Giannis Vasilottos plays Christos. Although new to Hollywood, Vasilottos is known to the Greek TV audiences for his role in the Greek TV series Wild Bees.

Stefanie Nur as Qamar

A more familiar face to American television audiences is Stefanie Nur. The actress guest-starred on 2 episodes of Taylor Sheridan’s Western drama miniseries 1883 as Melodi. In My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, Stefanie Nur plays Qamar, Alexandra’s assistant. Although a dedicated assistant, she’s non-Greek. Qamar is secretly betrothed to Christos. Although Alexandra and Peter initially disapprove of their union, the Portokaloses help them see why marrying a non-Greek isn’t a bad idea. Besides a new cast joining My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, the Box Office hit sequel, Inside Out 2, also had new voice cast members join the film series.
