HOW TO AIR FRYSTRIP STEAK
STEP 1
Remove the steaks from your refrigerator and remove store packaging. Place them on a plate or cutting board for approximately 30 minutes beforeair frying.
STEP 2
Once the steaks have reached room temperature brush both sides ofthe steaks with olive oiland then season the steaks with salt and ground pepper. At this point add any additional seasonings you may want forextra flavor.
STEP 3
Place each steak in yourair fryerbasket, allow ¼ to ½ inch between steaks, without stacking or overlapping. This allows the air to circulate so your steak can cook properly.
STEP 4
Air fry steaksat 400 degrees F for10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through cooking process. Depending on your personal preference of steak doneness. For larger steaks or thicker steaks, cooking times will vary.
STEP 5
When doneair frying the steak, remove the basket from theair fryerand place steaks on a cutting board or plate. Let the steaks rest in their juices for 5-10 minutes before cutting.
TIPS
The easiest and safest way to determine the level of doneness is to confirm theinternal temperaturewith a instant-read-thermometer.
According to the FDA, proper temperatures for steak doneness are listed below:
- Rare Steak- 125 degrees F
- Medium-Rare Steak- 135 degrees F
- Medium Steak- 145 degrees F
- Medium Well Steak- 155 degrees F
- Well Done Steak- 160 degrees F
Season or marinateyour steaks before air frying. I like to keep it simple and just use salt and pepper if I'm adding butter that hasfresh herbs and spices already mixed inside. But you can also use yourfavorite steak seasoningor create your ownfavorite blendof seasonings.
If you prefer a more tender steak, lightly pound the meat before seasoning and air frying.
VARIATIONS
Garlic butter steak-Add a garlic andherb butterto the top of the steaks before air frying for added flavor.
Spicy Steak- For a tangy twist, marinate the steaks in a mixture of soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce before air frying. For an extra kick of heat, add a sprinkle of chili powder or cayenne pepper to your steak.
Mushrooms- There is nothing better than a good steak topped with mushrooms. I slice them up and then sauté them in butter in a skillet, or make these air fryer mushrooms.
