How To Dehydrate Raspberries. Let me show you how easy it is to transform your favourite fresh in season raspberries into a pantry staple that you can enjoy long after the end of raspberry season.

You will love the simplicity of dehydrated raspberries, or as you may call them, dried raspberries. This much loved summer fruit is very easy to dehydrate in the air fryer oven using brands such as the Instant Pot, Nuwave or what we are using today, the Power Air Fryer Oven.

It always feels like, I always have loads of cravings for raspberries out of season and I am left with poor quality raspberries and hoping I can make a great dessert out of them.

Of course, you end up with more bad raspberries than good raspberries and it feels like a total waste of money.

That is why I love dehydrated raspberries. You can dehydrate your raspberries when they are in season and then preserve them for those winter cravings.

Can You Dehydrate Raspberries?

Yes, you can. Raspberries are one of the easiest fruits for dehydrating and require very little effort.

You don’t need to prep the raspberries or have to chop them up, like you would with fresh strawberries or fresh pineapple.

You can also transform dried raspberries into raspberry powder.

Best Way To Preserve Raspberries?

In my opinion, the best way to preserve raspberries and how to make raspberries last longer is to dehydrate them.

You can then store your dried raspberries for a lot longer than you would with a small portion of fresh raspberries.

You probably want to know, why dried raspberries? Well, you can transform them into raspberry powder, you can store them for a year and best of all they are a perfect snack. Or can be used in baked goods as a healthy add in.

Out of the texture of the different fruits that I have dehydrated it is dried raspberries that I find the most interesting. That is because they go from being under done in the dehydrator to being perfectly dried. There is no in between with them.

Dehydrated Raspberries In Air Fryer

Something that might surprise some people, is that if you have an air fryer oven with a dehydrator setting, then you don’t need a dehydrator machine.

It is a total money saver, with so many people now having an air fryer and incredibly easy.

If you have not dehydrated your favourite summer berries before, then I recommend you do so in the air fryer.

Just to show you how easy it is to preserve raspberries using the air fryer this is all you need:

Air Fryer Oven – I recommend this air fryer oven for dehydrating fruit and it is fantastic because there are three shelves, and you can do a small batch or a large batch of dehydrated raspberries.

Storage – You need a plan of action of where you plan to keep your dried fruit. You can keep it simple by eating them all straight away (yes I do that), use a zip loc bag (I prefer this one) or you can opt for traditional pantry containers (like this one).

Raspberries – I prefer to use fresh raspberries over frozen, but you can use either. For me this raspberry recipe is all about preserving the life of the berries and if they are already frozen you don’t need to do this.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil – I recommend that you spray your raspberries with extra virgin olive oil prior to adding your stevia. This helps the stevia stick to the fruit but also prevents them from going hard when they are dried.

Stevia – I love my dried raspberries with stevia. It gives a wonderful sweet flavour to the berries as they dry. You just give the raspberries a sprinkle with stevia as you place them in the air fryer.

That is, it! You probably think that are complicated ingredients and accessories to make air fryer raspberries, but there isn’t. It is also a fantastic easy recipe for air fryer beginners.

How To Prepare Dried Raspberries For Dehydrating?

The process of preparing your fresh raspberries is an easy one.

Simply give your raspberries a rinse under a cold tap to give them a clean, pat them dry and remove any bad ones.

I always find that I lose at least 4 raspberries that have gone bad, but still get a good amount of dried raspberries.

Then place your raspberries onto your air fryer oven shelf, spray with extra virgin olive oil and sprinkle with stevia.

Your berries are now prepared and ready for the air fryer oven.

How To Dehydrate Raspberries In An Air Fryer?

• Prep. Wash your raspberries and get rid of any bad ones. Pat dry with kitchen towel and then place onto your shelf. Spray with extra virgin olive oil and sprinkle with stevia.
• Air fry. Load your shelf (or shelves) of raspberries into the air fryer oven and air fry for 5 hours on 55c/130f.
• Store. Remove from the air fryer and allow to cool before placing into your preferred storage container.

How Long Does It Take To Dehydrate Raspberries?

The recommended cook time for dehydrated raspberries is 5 hours. I checked on my raspberries several times and tried different cook times but found that 5 hours produced the best results.

However, if you want to make dried raspberry powder, I recommend adding an extra hour, as it will make it easier to transform into powder.

How To Make Dried Raspberry Powder?

This is my chef hubby’s dried raspberry powder recipe. What he does, is wait until the dried raspberries have cooled and then place them into a zip loc bag.

Then he will hit the zip lock bag with a rolling pin and you will then have dried raspberry powder.

Of course, you could also blast dried raspberries in a blender, but the rolling pin is the quickest method.

How Long Do Raspberries Last?

This depends on where you have stored them. Dried raspberries can last a year if they are sealed in a mason jar in a dark cool pantry.

However, if you are storing your dehydrated raspberries in a zip loc bag in a warm house, then expect them to last up to three months.

What Can You Dehydrate?

There are lots of food you can dehydrate and its not just about raspberries. In fact, this recipe is number #3 in a summer theme we are running of fruit to dehydrate. Last week it was dehydrated blueberries, the week before it was dehydrated strawberries and we can’t wait to carry on the theme.

As well as these you can also dehydrate most fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers. There is also the option to dehydrate other foods such as marshmallows, potatoes and beef jerky. Though, those are the dehydrated foods I think of first as there is so much choice.

I recommend that if you are a beginner to dehydrated foods that you start with dehydrated fruit recipes from the berry family.
