If you have a Ninja Creami ice cream maker, chances are pretty good you love it.

There are so many different varieties you can make, and it’s easy to whip up a pint with minimal effort.

Plus, you can often make frozen treats out of ingredients that wouldn’t work well in a traditional ice cream machine.

For instance, you can make transform canned pie filling into a delicious frozen dessert, make silky smooth Ninja Creami ice cream from pudding mix, or even make refreshing sorbet using canned fruit!

This Ninja Creami pear sorbet recipe starts with canned pears, plus some warm spices, to create a creamy sorbet. It feels indulgent, but in reality, it’s a guilt-free treat!

It’s on our list of the best Ninja Creami sorbet recipes, and for good reason!

Making Ninja Creami Sorbet with Canned Pears

Using canned fruit in the Ninja Creami is about as easy as it gets!

You can easily tweak the sweetness of this easy fruit sorbet by selecting the liquid your fruit is packed in.

So pears in heavy syrup will be sweeter than those in light syrup, which will be sweeter than those in juice.

Everyone has a different preference for sweetness, which allows you to choose accordingly.

Or, if you’re like me and only had pears in fruit juice on hand, you can add some sweetener of your choice, such as sugar, monk fruit sweetener, or maple syrup, for some extra sweetness.

A general rule of thumb to keep in mind is that the mixture will taste slightly less sweet after it’s frozen. So keep that in mind when deciding whether to add any extra sweetener!

I decided to add some pumpkin pie spice to make this a spiced pear sorbet, and that was a fantastic decision.

You can use plain ground cinnamon or apple pie spice if that’s all you have on hand.

It makes a great Ninja Creami recipe for fall!

How to Make Pear Sorbet in the Ninja Creami

It’s super easy to make this delicious frozen treat with just a few simple ingredients!

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • Pumpkin pie spice

  • Optional: Lemon juice

How to Make it:

Prepare the base. Add pears and their liquid into a Ninja Creami pint container, being careful not to exceed the max fill line.

Add in the pumpkin pie spice and any additional sweetener (I generally recommend starting with a tablespoon and adding a second tablespoon if it still needs a bit more).

Stir well to combine as much as possible. Some of the spices may still float around on top, but as long as most are mixed in, it’s fine.

If you’re adding lemon juice, go ahead and stir that in now.

Freeze. Close the lid on the pint and transfer to a level surface in your freezer. Freeze for at least 24 hours.

Spin. Remove the pint from the freezer and take off the lid. Place the pint into the outer bowl and secure the outer bowl lid assembly.

Place the outer bowl in the Ninja Creami machine, locking it into place, and press the Sorbet button. The motor base will turn on and begin processing the sorbet.

Re-spin if needed. Remove the pint and check the texture of the sorbet. If it’s a bit crumbly, you can place bowl assembly back into the machine and use the Re-spin function to spin it again.

If it’s still crumbly after that, add a tablespoon of water and Re-spin again to make it nice and creamy.

Notes and Adaptations:

  • You can use pear halves, sliced pears, or diced pears. Even pear halves will be easily “creamified” by the Ninja Creami.
  • The liquid your pears are packed in will impact the sweetness of the sorbet. I used pears packed in juice, and I added 2 tablespoons of sweetener. If you’re using pears packed in light syrup or heavy syrup, you may not need any or as much additional sweetener.
  • Adding lemon juice is optional. It “brightens” the flavor of the pears a bit, but isn’t overpowering. You can also use a bit of orange juice or lime juice instead. The sorbet is still delicious without any citrus addition, so it’s totally up to you.
  • When deciding whether to add more sweetener, keep in mind that sorbet will be slightly less sweet after freezing.
  • If you’re adding sweetener, I recommend starting with 1 tablespoon, mixing, tasting, then deciding if you need another tablespoon or not.
